So, I innocently show up for work on Monday morning. Humming a lovely (in my opinion) tune and feeling pretty good about the hair day ahead, I walk up the stairs. Only to find a GIANT jar of chocolate candy (Hershey's nuggets, no less) on my desk. NOW, for those of you who don't know, I share my job with a lovely young woman whom we will call Jess. Jess is a stick. Jess works out every day and has the metabolism of a 14 yr old. Jess has will-power when faced with chocolate. Jess apparently has NO regard for poor little chubby me whose will power only kicks in when all traces of the chocolate are gone. :( So, I've been workin on that candy. AND, it's almost gone, I am happy and sad to say. Happy because soon, I will not have any more to eat. :) Sad because it just means I ate it all. :(
And, to add insult to injury, ANOTHER co-worker whom we will call Jill came over today with a fist full of TWIZZLERS! Now, for those of you who don't know, the only thing I love more than chocolate is...Twizzlers. I suppose I could have refused them or thrown them away, but those of you who know me are giggling at the absurdity of that thought!! So, now the 1 hour walk I was planning today has turned into a 90 minute walk during which I am going to do intervals to ramp up that metabolism and get rid of the Twizzlers which are currently making their way to my thighs.
Sigh.
You are soooo not chubby!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but it's genetic. You have chocolate-loving genes. Can't fight it.
ReplyDeleteWe are most definitely kin!!! There are times that if I have UJ hide the chocolate deep under all of the layers of food in the chest freezer in the garage, I can resist it!!! Well...at least until a really savage "snack attack" comes along. I think I'll add "possibility of being chocolated by co-worker" to my reasons for not seeking gainful employment!
ReplyDeleteIn line 2, I might have used "that" when "when" would have been a better word to use. However, since this is being written at 1:26 a.m., I have no brain cells of discernment still awake. You will just have to "adjust."
love you!
How did I not know until now that you were also in love with Twizzlers? The last two weeks I bought a "family sized" bag of Twizzlers. The problem was I had no intention of sharing them with the family. I brought them to work. You do remember that I only work 1 day a week. That's a lot of Twizzlers in one day...I would never leave an opened bag sit a week to get firm. They taste so much better fresh. Soooo, the next time I see you (wherever you are) we can drink chocolate martinis and eat Twizzlers. Lov Ya!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I notice my response says "Scott said". I don't want anyone mistaking me for him, especially when I signed Lov Ya!!! Kim
